Marketing terms like 'green', 'natural', and 'eco' aren't regulated, so they don't mean much on their own. Here's exactly what's in our default cleaning kit, and why.
What we use
- Plant-based, biodegradable surface cleaner (citrus and thyme oils as the active scent).
- Hydrogen-peroxide bathroom cleaner — kills mold and mildew without bleach fumes.
- Castile soap and water for floors.
- Microfiber everything — cloths, mops, dusters. No paper towels except for raw-meat surfaces.
- HEPA-filter vacuums on every visit, so allergens stay captured.
What we deliberately don't use
- Ammonia — irritates lungs, especially in small bathrooms.
- Bleach by default (only on request, for specific stains).
- Synthetic-fragrance air sprays.
- Triclosan-based antibacterials.
- Anything that requires gloves and a mask to apply safely.
Pet and kid safety
Every product in our default kit is safe to use in homes with kids and pets, including birds (which are unusually sensitive to fumes). If anyone in the household has a specific allergy, tell us at booking and we'll swap the kit before the visit.
